As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment, Ringardas Nigeria Limited commissioned a solar-powered borehole in Bako Community, Kwali Area Council, FCT, on February 6, 2025. This initiative addresses the community’s long-standing challenge of accessing clean water, aligning with SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
Prior to this project, Bako Community with over 350 households relied on unsafe water sources, forcing women and children to walk long distances. The new borehole now provides clean water for residents, benefiting schools, healthcare centers, farmers, and businesses.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by Ringardas executives, NMDPRA representatives, government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders, reinforcing strong stakeholder collaboration. Mrs. Nana Shaibu, Corporate Affairs and Communication Manager emphasized that access to clean water is a basic human need, reaffirming Ringardas’ commitment to community impact. Engr. Onyekachi Hezekiah, HSE & CSR Manager, assured the water meets safety standards, presenting the water analysis certificate to the community. He also stressed the importance of community ownership to ensure long-term maintenance.
Grateful community members hailed the project as life-changing, improving health, sanitation, and daily living conditions. This initiative reflects Ringardas’ dedication to sustainable development, environmental stewardship, and social impact, setting a benchmark for responsible corporate citizenship.
