Rubis Asphalt South Africa, in collaboration with the Reatile Foundation, has made a donation to the Abraham Kriel Bambanani – Langlaagte Home for Girls in Johannesburg, South Africa. This project, which is part of our social economic development program, has enabled the home to carry out much-needed repairs and maintenance work.
The home, one of seven in the school, accommodates up to 20 girls aged between 6 and 18. The home, founded in 1902, was in urgent need of repairs and maintenance inside, including the 13 bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms and communal areas. The bedrooms were repainted, the wardrobes repaired and replaced, and the kitchen was completely refurbished. Extensive waterproofing work was carried out, as well as the replacement of ceilings, skirting boards and cornices. The project lasted two months, and the girls were delighted to learn that they could return to their rooms.
Representatives from RASA, the Reatile Foundation, and the hostel management were on hand to officially hand over the house to the girls and their guardians.
Many thanks to the management of the Abraham Kriel Bambanani – Langlaagte home and to the Reatile Foundation for enabling us to give these girls some much-needed hope!
